anylisis essay You’ve been staring at your blank computer screen for what feels like hours, trying to figure out macbeth scene summary, how to start your analytical essay. You try to choose between writing the introduction first or getting right into the meat of it. But somehow, it seems too difficult to do either. What you need is is a blueprint—a foolproof way to get your essay structured. Then all you have to do is sparknotes shawshank fill in the blanks. By Anonymous [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons. What an Analytical Essay Is—And What It Isn’t. Helpful, right?

Um, not so much. First, it might be more useful to macbeth scene summary, explain what an analytical essay isn’t before getting to what it is sparknotes shawshank redemption . An analytical essay isn’t a summary. Though this may seem obvious in theory, it’s more difficult in practice. If you read your essay and it sounds a lot like a book report, it’s probably only summarizing events or characters. Scene Summary! One way to figure out if you’re summarizing instead of analyzing is to look at honda, your support. Are you simply stating what happened, or are you relating it back to your main point? Okay, so what is an analytical essay, exactly ? Usually, it’s writing that has a more narrowed focus than a summary. Analytical essays usually concentrate on how the macbeth scene summary, book or poem was written—for example, how certain themes present themselves in sparknotes redemption, the story, or how the scene summary, use of metaphor brings a certain meaning to a poem. In short, this type of essay requires you to look at the smaller parts of the work to help shed light on the larger picture. An example of a prompt—and the example I’m going to use for the rest of this post—could be something like: Analyze the theme of sacrifice in the Harry Potter series. Responsibility Be Used Effectively! (Note: there might be some spoilers, but I figured everyone who was planning on reading the books has done so already—or at least has seen the movies.) One Way To Form Your Analytical Essay Outline.

There are quite a few ways to organize your analytical essay, but no matter how you choose to write it, your essay should always have three main parts: I’ll get into macbeth scene the nitty-gritty of this soon, but for all you visual learners, here is a nice representation of most of the young congressmen known hawks, all the components that make a great analytical essay outline. Macbeth! You can see that I’ve added a few more details than just the introduction, body, and conclusion. But hold your horses—we’re getting to those parts right now. Introduction of Your Analytical Essay Outline. The purpose of your introduction is to get the reader interested in your analysis.

The introduction should include at least three things—a hook, your thesis statement, and a sentence or two describing how you intend to prove your thesis statement. 1. You gotta hook ‘em from the start. Victorian! The first part of your introduction should draw the macbeth, reader in. This is called the hook. The hook should be interesting or surprising. You can achieve this by defining human resources management, asking a rhetorical question, giving some relevant statistics, or making a statement that’s unusual or controversial. For my Harry Potter example, I might say, “Since the publication of the first book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone , some Christian groups have attacked the books for promoting witchcraft. Macbeth Scene Summary! However, one of the main themes of the books draws inspiration from sparknotes redemption Christianity itself—that of sacrifice.” Okay, so that’s two sentences. But it’s got a little bit of controversy and relates to what the rest of the essay will discuss.

2. Get to the good stuff—write a killer thesis statement. Okay, so now that you’ve got your reader hooked, you need to start getting to macbeth, the point. This is where the thesis statement comes in. My thesis might be, “The theme of sacrifice is prevalent throughout the series and is embodied as sacrifice for the greater good, sacrifice for an ultimate gain, and human management, sacrifice to keep a promise.” 3. It’s time to back up your thesis. Let the reader know how you’re going to prove your claim. For my example, I would let the reader know that I intend to analyze the instances of Harry’s “death,” Voldemort’s sacrifice of his soul in exchange for immortality, and how Snape sacrifices in order to honor a promise made to Lily Potter.

These points will be the macbeth scene, building blocks of the body paragraphs. Body of Your Analytical Essay Outline. The body is sparknotes shawshank where you can start to get really creative and scene summary, play around with formatting. In the flowchart, there are three body paragraphs. But that’s because I was trained in the 5-paragraph outline. Victorian Backgrounds! But you can include as many or as few body paragraphs as you want—as long as you end up thoroughly supporting your thesis. Macbeth Summary! For my outline, each body paragraph includes a topic sentence, followed by three sets of claims, evidence to support those claims, and victorian backgrounds, how that evidence ties back to scene, the topic sentence. Again, three is not necessarily a magic number here. You could make one claim with a lot of evidence, or five claims to support your topic sentence. But let’s get into it, shall we?

1. Develop a strong topic sentence. Each topic sentence in each body paragraph of your analytical essay outline should tell the reader exactly what that section is shawshank going to macbeth summary, be about. My first body paragraph might start with, “Harry Potter is history willing to fulfill prophecy and macbeth scene summary, make the created, ultimate sacrifice—that of his life—in order to save the rest of the wizarding world.” 2. Make your claim. The claim should dive into a smaller part of the overarching topic sentence. The topic sentence I gave can be broken down into several smaller claims—that Harry knew that he was fulfilling prophecy, that he was actually willing to die, and that his death would be of scene summary, profound significance. 3. Resources Management! Provide evidence from the summary, text to back your claim. Of The Congressmen Hawks! You can’t just go around making claims without any support. You can use quotes or paraphrase parts of the text to add evidence. For evidence that Harry knew that he was fulfilling prophecy, you could cite the instance in the hall of macbeth scene, prophecies with the defining resources, quote, “and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.” 4. Tie that evidence to the topic sentence.

You have to make it absolutely clear why you included the macbeth scene summary, evidence. Sparknotes! If you don’t, your analytical essay runs the risk of being a summary. For example, with the citing of the macbeth scene, prophecy, I would tell the reader that Harry and his friends found said prophecy and figured out that it had to be about him (although there are objections that it could’ve been referring to Neville, but we’ll leave that out of this example). They knew that either Voldemort had to die or Harry did, and he had to be willing to do that. They’re not needed in the outline, but when you write your final essay, be sure you include effective transitions. This will help your essay flow. Human Resources Management! Conclusion of Your Analytical Essay Outline. After you’ve built up all of macbeth summary, your body paragraphs, given the appropriate evidence to back your claims, and be used, tied that evidence to your awesome topic sentences, you’re ready to wrap it all up. The conclusion should be a brief restatement of your main points without being a direct copy. For example, “There are many motivations behind sacrifice—to help others, to help oneself, or to scene summary, keep a promise to a loved one—and J.K. History! Rowling explores several of them through the characters in the Harry Potter book series.” This, of scene, course, does not suffice as a full conclusion.

To fill it out and give the reader a sense of closure, you can relate the theme to the real world or end with a final quote from the text or the author. How to Write the Best Nursing Cover Letter. A well crafted nursing cover letter can be just as important as a well crafted nursing resume. When done right, cover letters are a key factor in getting a nursing candidate’s foot in the door. Of course, nursing candidates understand this so they spend time researching how to macbeth summary, write good cover letters. The problem is that the vast majority of readily available information on nursing cover letters is uniform and responsibility accounting cannot effectively, antiquated. As a result, the vast majority of nursing cover letters read exactly the same and fall well short of piquing the macbeth summary, reader’s interest.

So in this blog post, we’ll cover the honda, basic items to scene summary, review before sending a cover letter, summarize the conventional approach to company, nursing cover letters and discuss its shortcomings, and offer a unique formula that will wow employers and land you an interview. Covering the nursing cover letter basics. It’s critical to scene summary, carefully review your cover letter for the basics before sending it out to defining human management, professional contacts or prospective employers. Macbeth Summary? What are the basics? We’re referring to things like grammar and spelling. As obvious as these basics may be, a very large percentage of cover letters include basic mistakes. So be certain to review your cover letter for the following issues: Spelling : Yes, it’s a good idea to use the spell checker. However, you must also carefully review your cover letter for honda history errors that the spell checker won’t pick up.

For example, you may have typed “form” instead of “from.” And yes, some recruiters and hiring managers are that picky. Grammar : The best way to scene summary, review grammar is to read your cover letter out loud and word-for-word. Sparknotes Shawshank Redemption? If you’re unsure if the scene summary, grammar is correct, then try to simplify the defining human management, caption in question. Simpler is usually better anyway. Correct Employer Information : Be sure you’ve used the correct employer name, address, contact person, and contact person’s title. It’s easy to lose site of this when you’re applying for multiple jobs and using the same cover letter template. Date : Be sure to summary, use the sparknotes, current date. We regularly see cover letters with last year’s date, most likely because the candidate used a template from their previous job search. Macbeth Scene Summary? Your Contact Information : Make sure your contact information is current and correct. Responsibility Accounting Cannot Be Used Effectively? Congruence : Make sure that the information you provide in your cover letter matches the information you provide in macbeth your resume and/or job application.

General framing for your nursing cover letter. With the basic considerations out of the way, we can begin to frame or conceptualize the cover letter. For starters, it’s important to consider your angle . Are you responding to a job advertisement? Are you sending your cover letter and resume to a professional contact to be forwarded to defining human management, someone involved in the hiring process? Are you engaging in macbeth scene summary a general inquiry expressing interest in working for the organization in some capacity while having no professional contacts within the organization and despite the fact that there is no job advertised? Your angle should guide how you frame your cover letter and honda, dictate a small but important set of information to include. Consider the following: Job Advertisements : If you’re applying to a job advertisement, then your cover letter should reference the advertisement, job ID if applicable, and Job Title. Macbeth Summary? Professional Contacts : If you have a professional contact within the organization, then your cover letter should include the human management, name of the professional contact, their title, your relationship to the contact, and perhaps a few references to 2nd degree contacts and conversations you’ve had pertaining to the job in question and/or organization. General Job Inquiries : If you’re merely expressing a general interest in potential job opportunities with an organization, then be clear about what role(s) you’re interested in. The conventional approach to macbeth scene summary, nursing cover letters:

Now that we’ve covered the basics and of the young congressmen known as war hawks, have an idea of how to macbeth scene, frame the cover letter, it’s time to honda company history, move on to the meat of the letter. A Google search for “nursing cover letter” returns pages from many reputable and seemingly authoritative sources. You’ll find pages from Ohio State University, Johns Hopkins, Monster.com, Duke University, and many others. Macbeth Scene? All of these sources utilize virtually the same general cover letter template. Their general template recommends the following. First, start your cover letter with a brief introductory paragraph that quickly gets to the point. Introduce yourself professionally, let the reader know why you’re writing and do so enthusiastically. You might also praise the shawshank, employer on some recent accomplishment or milestone they’ve achieved. Second, include two to three “strength paragraphs.” These are paragraphs that describe your professional strengths.

The general recommendation is to describe how you’re a good fit for the position in question. It’s often suggested that you draw on the job description for details about what the employer is seeking. Then, describe how your skills and experience fit the macbeth scene, criteria. In doing so, you might describe some past experiences and even offer some stats and numbers for honda history emphasis. Finally, end the cover letter with a brief conclusion paragraph. Recap your interest in the job. Once again summarize why you’re a good fit. Perhaps offer some well wishes and good sentiments. And let them know that you’ll attempt to macbeth scene, contact them and they can contact you at their convenience to set up an most young congressmen as war, interview. What’s wrong with the conventional approach to nursing cover letters? There are several problems with the conventional approach to scene summary, nursing cover letters.

First, it does nothing to set you apart from the rest of the candidates. When Truman Doctrine Created? Almost every single candidate is taking this approach. It’s so pervasive that cover letters for different candidates often read the same exact way. Everyone is drawing from the job description which is scene summary, usually very generic. As a result, they’re all explaining how their prior experience makes them organized or clinically experienced enough to do the redemption, job. Or how their orientation towards team work will help them fit right in. Once the recruiter or hiring manager has read this cover letter a dozen times, they’re simply tuned out. Second, the conventional approach fosters a tendency to summarize the resume. Candidates often use the same exact information included on their resume when writing their cover letters to describe why they’re a good fit for the job. This is a waste of valuable space and time, but it’s almost impossible to avoid.

A resume is a summary of your work history and experiences as they pertain to your qualifications for the job in question. Scene? Meanwhile, the conventional approach to nursing cover letters is recommending that you describe why you’re qualified for the job. These are very closely related. Third, the conventional approach to nursing cover letters is a passive approach. It turns the redemption, candidate into a passive receiver of details provided by the employer and then asks that they reword their resume to address the details. Not only is this a poor stance for macbeth summary job seekers, it doesn’t consider the reality that employers routinely offer canned job descriptions that don’t really offer any actionable intelligence for the candidate. An alternative approach to nursing cover letters. The conventional approach was fine in 1986 but it’s not up to snuff for the information and shawshank redemption, networking age. Information is now so readily available that if you’re focused only on the job description when writing your cover letter, then you’re missing some major opportunities to separate yourself from the pack. And separating from the macbeth, pack is the primary goal of this alternative approach to nursing cover letters because it will greatly increase your potential for landing the interview. The question becomes, how do you find and use information regarding the targeted employer to craft an amazing cover letter?

You start by completely changing the guiding principle behind your approach to the cover letter. Remember, the truman, guiding principle of the conventional approach is to draw from the job description to develop “strength paragraphs” that describe why you’re a good fit for the job. Macbeth Summary? Again, this a passive approach that steers nursing candidates to rely on information provided by a job description that is defining, often vague and confined to the minimum requirements. By contrast, our alternative approach is macbeth scene summary, based on sales and marketing principles. After all, a cover letter is a sales vehicle, plain and simple. You’re using it to sell yourself to the employer. Victorian? This sales based approach to cover letters fosters an aggressive mind-set by macbeth summary, recommending that you seek out additional information beyond the victorian backgrounds, job description which will be used to help you develop your sales pitch.

Now there are many different approaches to selling things. We’re going to focus on perhaps the most successful sales approach, “problem solving.” Essentially, you’re going to define a problem facing the employer and describe why you’re the solution . In doing so, you will draw on your skills and experience in a much more natural way. And the exercise will almost certainly give the opportunity to offer information that isn’t included on your resume. Scene Summary? Trust us, this is much easier than it sounds!! Start by researching the employer. Researching the when was the created, employer is the first step in crafting your cover letter. Macbeth Scene Summary? Begin with a visit to the employer’s web site. Look for a blog or a “News Room.” If the employer has a very limited website with no blog or company news, then review the “About” page or anything you can find that will offer insight.

The great news for nurses is that many hospitals and healthcare employers maintain regularly updated and highly detailed blogs and honda history, “News Rooms.” Check out this example from Swedish Medical in Washington state. There’s even a “Tag Cloud” on the right side that will help you locate information about macbeth summary, specific units and doctrine, various specialties!! Next, find the macbeth scene summary, employer on all the honda company, major social media channels. Again, most employers are using these channels to macbeth, disseminate information that is important to victorian backgrounds, them and macbeth scene, their clientele. The easiest way to find a company’s social media channels is to locate the most young congressmen known as war hawks, social media icon buttons on the company’s website. You know, the buttons that typically say something like, “Connect with us.” This approach is much better than going straight the social media outlet and searching for the company which usually returns poor results.

For example, we were easily directed to Swedish Medical’s Facebook Page by clicking on the Facebook button on macbeth scene their website. However, a search for “Swedish Medical Center” on Facebook didn’t include the official company page within the sparknotes redemption, top 50 results. Next, check with your own social networks to see if you’re connected to someone who works for the employer in question or knows someone who does . Don’t be afraid to post an scene summary, inquiry on your own social media accounts to find out if anyone you know has any connections to the employer in question. You might be surprised by what you find. I’ve never been to cannot be used effectively, Washington state and I was able to find 6 2nd degree connections to Swedish Medical within my network in a minimal amount of time. You can also search for news articles on the employer on both national and local levels . For example, a search for macbeth scene “Swedish Medical” on the Seattle Post Intelligencer returned 419 results.

A search of Google’s News database returned 97 results. If you’re still not able to find any actionable intelligence after conducting these searches, then you can conduct a search for information on the industry or market niche in question . Not every nurse is applying for jobs at hospitals or other large healthcare organizations that have the resources to attract and maintain the kind of media presence described above. You might be applying for jobs as a school nurse, or jobs at small addiction treatment centers, or some other form of small employer. In these cases, check for of the as war hawks were an industry or niche association that advocates for the interests of employers in the industry or niche in question. At this point, you’re probably wondering what exactly you’re looking for while doing your research. You’re looking for information you can present as a problem, or potential problem, for which you are the solution . You see, almost everything can be presented as a potential challenge or problem facing an employer. For example, if a hospital just achieved Magnet Recognition, then maintaining it will be a challenge. Macbeth Scene? The same goes for was the truman doctrine any award or recognition an employer has achieved.

Of course, you can also look for actual problems that an employer is scene summary, facing. Defining Resources? For example, an summary, employer may have a high employee turnover rate, or they maybe in the process of attempting to achieve some goal or milestone, or they may be undergoing an EMR conversion in the near future. Of course, you need to honda company history, be able to convince the reader that you can help with the problems you define. So merely defining a problem isn’t enough. You need to define a problem for which you can convincingly sell yourself as the solution . Using the examples above, you may have worked with an employer who turned around their employee turnover problems, or with an macbeth summary, employer who achieved the same goal or milestone, or you may have experience with the EMR that the employer is converting to.

In conducting your research, start at honda company history the base level and work your way out. For example, if you’re applying for macbeth scene summary a Staff Nurse position in a hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, then start with trying to find information that is pertinent to the unit. These problems will likely be in line with your expertise. From the unit level, work your way out to the industry level to identify a broader range of problems for sparknotes shawshank redemption which you may be the solution. It’s very likely that you’ll find multiple problems to define, and that’s great. You can easily touch on two to three problems and describe how you’re the solution for each in the span of your 1 page cover letter. If you are unable to find any problems to scene, define after exhausting all of was the truman created, your research options, then you can use the job description provided by the employer (assuming there is one) to define problems. Macbeth Summary? In doing so, you’ll write a much more powerful cover letter than you would have using the conventional approach described above.

Why is this alternative approach to nursing cover letters better? The problem/solution approach to cover letters is better than the conventional approach for several reasons. Most Of The Congressmen Hawks? First, you’ll differentiate yourself from the pack. Even if everyone were to use this formula (which they won’t), they’d all find and define different problems and/or offer different solutions. Second, you’ll demonstrate that you’re knowledgeable about the scene, employer. Third, your cover letter will read like it was written by a human instead of a robot. Your cover letter will actually be interesting to read!! Finally, you’ll be selling yourself to backgrounds, the employer as a solution to their problems as opposed to regurgitating key points from your resume. How to write the best nursing cover letter.

To recap the steps: Consider your angle when framing your cover letter. This is described above under the heading “General framing for macbeth summary your cover letter.” Include an introduction paragraph that quickly lets the reader know why you’re writing. Honda History? Define problems and describe how you are the solution. Macbeth? Sell your skills and experiences as solutions. Be sure to make use of all research options to cannot effectively, find problems that are not included in the job description. Close the deal in macbeth a conclusion paragraph that describes the next step. Let the be used, reader know that you’d like to discuss these issues in summary greater detail and most young as war, learn more about the macbeth scene, challenges they are facing. Offer your contact information and let them know you’ll be contacting them. Victorian Backgrounds? The Scoop on scene summary, Resume Length: How Many Pages Should Your Resume Be? by Katharine Hansen, Ph.D. Once upon a time, someone came up with a “rule” that resumes should not exceed one page. No one really knows who came up with the be used, rule, but a great many job-seekers still seem to macbeth summary, live in fear of this supposed edict. The fact is that very few “rules” exist today in the world of resume writing. Backgrounds! Unbreakable rules include: You can’t lie, you can’t have typos/misspellings, and you can’t include negative information. Just about every other rule you’ve ever heard about resumes, however, is breakable, including rules about how many pages your resume should comprise. Rules are one thing, but trends are another. After a period that could almost be described as “anything goes” in terms of resume length, the pendulum in this Twitter-inspired, short-attention-span age has swung back toward shorter resumes. “The norm for most resumes/CVs is one to two pages, even for macbeth scene very experienced professionals,” says the Findings of 2011 Global Career Brainstorming Day: Trends for the Now, the sparknotes shawshank, New the Next in Careers , published by the Career Thought Leaders Consortium. The publication went on macbeth, to note that a survey of HR/recruiters on LinkedIn indicated an responsibility be used, overwhelming preference for a second page.

Even against within this climate of shorter resumes, each individual situation dictates resume length. After surveying career experts, we developed some guidelines to help you determine the macbeth, right length for your resume. It should be noted that length is defining primarily an issue that pertains to the traditional, formatted, “print” version of your resume. For resumes in summary electronic formats that are intended to shawshank, be placed directly in keyword-searchable databases, page-length is immaterial. “The length of your resume doesn’t matter to an applicant tracking system,” affirms Jon Ciampi, CEO of macbeth scene, Preptel, a company that aims to honda, help job-seekers penetrate these systems (as quoted in macbeth an article on CIO.com by Meridith Levinson). “It will scan your resume regardless of whether it’s two pages or four. Redemption! Submitting a longer (say three or four page) resume that allows you to pack in more relevant experience and macbeth summary, keywords and phrases could increase your chances of ranking higher in the system,” Ciampi says in Levinson’s article. Thus, this article’s guidelines apply either in honda history situations where your formatted resume is screened by human eyes without having been placed into a keyword-searchable database or after a keyword search has narrowed the field of applicants.

Resumes for new grads and entry-level job-seekers are often, but not always, one page. Most college career-placement centers tell students to limit their resumes to one page, notes resume writer Sharon Pierce-Williams, 75 percent of whose business is writing for scene the college population. Honda! Pierce-Williams observes that many career offices even require that students stick to a one-page resume.” Indeed, if there is one group that should strive for a one-page resume, it is college students and new graduates. In many cases, these entry-level job-seekers don’t have enough relevant experience to justify more than a page.

Some new grads do, however, have lots of relevant internship, summer-job, extracurricular, leadership, and sports experience that justifies a two-page resume. Pierce-Williams takes an unusual approach to new-grad resumes. “I have compelling proof that two-page resumes land job interviews for college students,” Pierce-Williams says. “Length depends on extra-curricular involvement and leadership. It takes a certain ‘go-getter’-type student for a two-page resume.” Pierce-Williams designs college-student resumes in which page one “often looks like a ‘regular’ resume, but page two is entitled ‘Key Leadership and Project Management’ or simply ‘Key Leadership.'” Pierce-Williams says she uses this page-two section to list three to four projects in which the summary, student made a difference in resources an association or sorority/fraternity. If you fall into the college-student/entry-level/new-grad group and are tempted to go to two pages, just be sure that you have the relevant material to justify a second page. “Once someone has been in business for 10 years, particularly if they have switched jobs, I find it difficult to keep it on one page,” says coach, speaker, and macbeth, trainer Darlene Nason. “I think a two-page resume is a good average.” In his Resume Critique Writer software, Grant Cooper of Strategic Resumes offers this view of the two-page resume: “The resume has now taken the place of the initial interview, and only those with significant qualifications and responsibility cannot effectively, strong resumes are even invited to interview. True, it does take an additional minute or less for an HR professional to review the second page of a resume, but that extra minute is seen as far more helpful than scheduling a questionable candidate for a personal interview.” Supplemental sheets and addenda provide a way to present additional information without adding to the length of the resume itself. Executives in particular were advised till recently that three- and four-page resumes were acceptable and even expected. Now, though, the trend is toward two-page or even one-page resumes for executives that are supplemented by various addenda that can optionally be submitted with the resume. “A suite of addenda,” says Deborah Wile Dib, president of Executive Power Brand, can be “a strategic way to mention presentations, awards, published works, technical skills, extensive education, and expanded success studies.” Dib, who particularly uses addenda with executives, notes that “such addenda allow for macbeth scene even greater depth without cluttering the resume.”

Creating various supplements and addenda enables the job-seeker to choose which pieces to responsibility accounting, send along with the resume. Macbeth Scene Summary! He or she might instead choose not to sparknotes shawshank, send any addenda but to bring them to the interview. Even among employers, there’s no consensus on preferred resume length. While there is no consensus among employers and recruiters about macbeth scene resume length, some feel one page is too short. Maureen Crawford Hentz, manager of most of the young, talent acquisition, development and compliance at Osram Sylvania, Boston MA, particularly disdains “abbreviated or ‘teaser’ resumes” that urge the recruiter, “for more information, call me.” Many recruiters believe that two pages is about the right length; for some, three pages is the outside limit that they will read. Scene Summary! “If the resume is longer than two pages, it needs to be well worth it,” noted Hentz’s colleague at Osram Sylvania, Harlynn Goolsby.

Others question executives’ ability to prioritize if their resumes are longer than two pages. Since recruiters pass candidate resumes on to client employers, they must also consider employer preferences. “Most of my clients profess that they are too busy to read anything lengthier — thus, I deliver what they require,” said Chris Dutton, director at resources management Intelligent Recruitment Services and Owner, Intelligent IT Recruitment, Manchester, UK. Summary! Recruiter opinions about shawshank resume length have been colored in recent years by the growing practice of reading resumes on a computer screen rather than printing them. Resumes that might seem too long in summary print are acceptable on screen. For many decision-makers, page length is less important than providing sufficient details. “I … encounter quite a few resumes that have been stripped of any detail in order to confine them to sparknotes shawshank, one or two pages,” said Pam Sisson, a recruiter for Professional Personnel in Alabama. “My immediate response is to ask for scene a more detailed resume. A resume that’s three or four pages but actually shows the was the truman doctrine created, qualifications and scene, experience necessary for a position is much preferred, in my opinion, to one that has cut out all the substance to meet some passe idea of a one-page resume.” John Kennedy, senior IT recruiter at Belcan agreed: “Resume length is accounting of very little importance so long as the macbeth scene summary, information is accurate, verifiable, and pertinent to the position.

If a candidate has 20 years of experience directly relating to the position being applied for and that experience is verifiable, it should be listed even if the resume goes four-plus pages.” Given that employers screen resumes for as few as 6 seconds, a resume must quickly capture the reader’s interest. “As long as the resume grabs the attention of the company history, hiring manager, it is the macbeth scene, right length,” says McCown-Guard. “Whatever the length of the resume, the critical factor is to victorian, make absolutely certain that your reader’s interest is piqued within the first half of the first page,” cautions Laurie J. Smith, president of Creative Keystrokes Executive Resume Service. “Of equal or greater importance [to length] is concise writing, short paragraphs, brief lists of bullet points, and macbeth, good organizational strategies that ensure the resume can be quickly skimmed,” notes the accounting cannot be used, Findings of 2011 Global Career Brainstorming Day: Trends for the Now, the New the Next in Careers . Macbeth Scene! “In addition, it is essential to use strong merchandising and positioning strategies to bring the most relevant information to the forefront. Creating a strong impact “above the fold” — on the top half of the first page of the resume — has become increasingly critical for job seekers in one of the most competitive employment markets we’ve ever experienced.” Whatever page your resume ends on, text should fill at least a third to a half of the page. If the last page of your resume amounts to just a few lines of text, it’s best to condense so that the preceding page becomes the last page of your resume. Conversely, don’t add superfluous text just to fill up the cannot be used effectively, last page of your resume. “I never fluff up content for the sake of filling space,” says Teena Rose of Resume to macbeth scene summary, Referral. “Irrelevancies can dilute the most of the young congressmen hawks, overall effectiveness of the resume.” The end of your resume, Rose notes, “should offer additional value and macbeth, not be perceived as leftovers.” Don’t sacrifice your resume’s readability to make it conform to arbitrary “rules” about resume length. It’s always pitiful when we have to whip out the magnifying class to read the tiny 8- or 9-point type on the resume of a job-seeker who has gone to absurd lengths to backgrounds, limit his or her resume to a certain number of scene, pages. Don’t forego readable type (we suggest no smaller than 10.5 point; 11 to 11.5 is better), comfortable margins (some resume writers say 1 inch all around; we’ve gone as small as .7?), space between lines, white space, and a pleasing, eye-attracting layout just to cram your resume onto X number of pages. Victorian Backgrounds! “It’s less taxing and time-consuming to read one and summary, a half or two well-formatted pages than one page where everything’s squished together,” observes one expert. “Those resumes that do contain detailed information, but are literally ‘crammed’ into one page, are now frowned upon,” says Cooper in his Resume Critique Writer software. “It is simply too difficult for a hiring director to read the tiny print and jam-packed information squeezed into human resources a one-page stuffed resume.

Companies that once insisted on one-page resumes are perfectly happy with a clearly-written, concise, and well-formatted two-page resume that is easy to read, yet has the detailed information they now need.” Page numbers, headers, and footers can aid continuity in a resume that is two or more pages. All resume pages beyond page one need to macbeth, be numbered. Some job-seekers choose a “page 2 of 3” model. Backgrounds! “If you decide to go with two or more pages, be sure to include your name and scene summary, appropriate page number at the top,” suggests Ann Baehr of Best Resumes. “And organize all of the most of the young congressmen as war, information with distinct categories to make it easier for macbeth scene the reader to find what they are looking for at a glance.” Including your name close to the page number is highly desirable in case resume pages get separated from each other. However, repeating your entire “letterhead” from the first page of your resume on of the young congressmen known were, subsequent pages can be confusing and take up too much space.

Career-management coach Don Orlando takes a novel approach to macbeth summary, a footer designed to shawshank redemption, entice the employer to keep reading the resume: “At the bottom of my multi-page resumes, there is a [customized] footer that reads something like this: ‘More indicators of scene summary, performance General Motors can use now…'” It’s OK for defining a resume section, such as your experience, to straddle two pages of your resume, but avoid splitting the description of a given job over two pages. Finish describing a job on macbeth summary, one page, and begin detailing the victorian backgrounds, next-oldest job on the following page. Final Thoughts on Job-Seeker Resume Length. One more guideline to macbeth, consider is that one-page resumes are typically expected for networking and at job fairs. If you’re still torn about how long to make your resume, consider contacting a qualified resume writer for an expert consultation.

An Analysis of summary, Ronald Reagan’s “The Evil Empire” Essay Sample. Shawshank Redemption. Ronald Reagan gave a speech in Orlando, Florida on March 8, 1983 called, “The Evil Empire.” This speech was intended for the ears of all Americans and is one of the summary best known presidential speeches ever given. In his speech, Reagan uses multiple rhetorical strategies such as; metaphors, allusions, rhetorical questions, tone, pathos, and responsibility cannot be used, uses references from the bible. He talks about macbeth all the when created main points of abortion, teenage sex, drugs, the Soviet Union, and the practice of macbeth summary, praying and God in our public schools. His speech was very well written, moving, and extremely influential. This speech shows the president’s belief that the morals and welfare of all of the American citizens has changed and also shows that Reagan is willing to do whatever he can to change not only victorian backgrounds, our country but, the world.

Allusion is one of the rhetorical strategies President Reagan uses numerous times during the course of his entire speech. The first example seen in the speech is when Reagan uses allusion when he is telling the story of “an evangelical minister and a politician arriving at macbeth summary heaven’s gate” (Reagan 2). He uses this story to show that there are still honest and respectable politicians, legislatures, congressmen/women, and any other government officials in victorian the public eye out there. He goes on to say that “we need your help to macbeth scene, keep us ever-mindful of the ideas and victorian, principles that brought us in the public arena in the first place” (Reagan 2). “Us”, is referring to the representatives of our great country. He wants the American citizens to stand up for macbeth scene summary what they believe in and be opinionated on their beliefs. Reagan is telling the general public that he wants to listen and hear what we as citizens have to say and what changes we would like to see be done in our country. Another example of an allusion in “The Evil Empire” speech is when President Reagan talks about the young father who is speaking to a crowd in California sometime during the cold war. Regan says that the management father states that “I would rather see my little girls die now; still believing in God, than have them grow up under communism and one day die no longer believing in God (Father, Reagan 7).

When the father said this he immediately won over the crowd and they all felt related to the sentence he just spoke. An additional rhetorical strategy that permeated throughout Ronald Reagan’s speech was the use of rhetorical questions. Reagan used these rhetorical questions to get his audience to at least deliberate or think through his viewpoints. One example of this rhetorical strategy Reagan used is when he asked, “How far are they willing to go in giving to government their prerogatives as parents” (Reagan 3)? He used this example in his viewpoint on the clinics that were helping under aged girls with their pregnancies and even supplying contraceptives without the consent of the females’ parents. Reagan and the other officials of the scene United States government were doing everything they could to help fund these clinics, that way the government could have a say in regards to requiring parental consent when the young girls would come and ask for help. The second example of rhetorical questions Reagan used in of the young congressmen hawks were multiple sentences in one segment of his speech is when he said, “Is all Judeo-Christian tradition wrong? Are we to macbeth scene, believe that something so sacred can be looked upon shawshank redemption, as a purely physical with no potential for emotional and macbeth scene summary, psychological harm?

And isn’t it the parents’ right to give counsel and advice to keep their children from making mistakes that may affect their entire lives” (Reagan 3)? He used these specific rhetorical questions to give the parents of these young women something to most young congressmen were, think about. He would like them to voice their opinion on the current problem occurring in the United States. I believe the use of these numerous rhetorical questions helped to persuade the summary parents to lean more to victorian, Reagan’s side. The third rhetorical strategy Reagan used in his speech is metaphors. The first use of metaphors in this speech is, “Yes, let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream” (Reagan 5). The use of summary, this metaphor is referring to everlasting justice and righteousness in what Reagan believes as the spiritual awakening that is about to initiate in the United States of America.

Reagan also uses a simile in “The Evil Empire” speech. The simile he uses is, “We know that living in victorian this world means dealing with what philosophers would call the phenomenology of evil or, as theologians would put it, the doctrine of sin” (Reagan 5). The use of this simile in this speech is stated to show that no matter what we do or what happens we will never be able to fully rid the world of evil. It is inevitable. Human kind will always have to macbeth summary, face evil.

It is defining human management, just up to us to battle evil the best way that we can. The final two rhetorical strategies I found in “The Evil Empire” speech given by Ronald Reagan was the usage of scene summary, pathos and defining human resources management, logos. An example of pathos in this speech is when Reagan refers to the abortion matter that was taking place in this time period. He states that, “Unless and until it can be proven that the unborn child is macbeth summary, not a living entity, then its right to life, liberty, and responsibility accounting be used effectively, the pursuit of happiness must be protected” (Reagan 4). The use of this sentence is to appeal to the audience’s emotions and get the audience to start thinking about what abortion really is. Reagan wants the American people to realize what really happens when an abortion takes place and to prove to scene summary, them that they are still unborn children and also, unborn citizens of the United States of America. Another example of pathos occurs later in the speech when Ronald Reagan speaks about how God is and should remain one of the most important traditional values in American life. Most Congressmen Known As War Hawks. God is written all over American history. Macbeth Scene Summary. It is sparknotes shawshank redemption, written on all of American currency and macbeth scene, even referenced in the constitution of the United States of America. For example, our currency says, “In God we trust”, and in the United States constitution it doesn’t necessarily state anything about God himself but, he is referenced all over the constitution. Also, in the speech, you can find that the rhetorical strategy logos is used.

An example of this is when Ronald Regan refers to a survey that was given to responsibility cannot be used effectively, American citizens that proved that most people “#8230;disapprove of adultery, teenage sex, pornography, abortion, and macbeth scene summary, hard drugs” (Reagan 5). This survey showed that people still held the old-fashioned value and morals that are commonly not looked so down upon in our times today. Overall, Ronald Reagan’s, “The Evil Empire” speech was extremely heart-rending and powerful in more than one way. He referenced the bible and his belief in God multiple times and used and numerous amount of rhetorical strategies and persuasive appeals in this speech that helped to make our countrymen and women deliberate on what was right or wrong and victorian, good or bad. He also used his strong belief in God and faith to help contemplate and persuade the minds of our citizens and win over scene, the audience. Human Resources Management. Reagan believed that, even though evil and macbeth scene, sin would never fully be conquered in our world, we as people could still take pride and hold our traditional values and morals up high and continue to sparknotes redemption, do the right thing. He believed that our country should take a leap of faith in God and scene, see what he has in defining store for us.

Reagan wanted to do whatever he could in summary his power to change our world for the better. Human Resources Management. Reagan, Ronald. “The Evil Empire.” Orlando, Fl. 8 March 1983. Speech. American Rhetoric. 2008. Web. Page numbers 1-8. 20 September 2013.
